Yes, pointing at an irda port everytime you need to send/receive data from
an interactive web app would be begging for trouble. I'm not a big fan of
web based apps and believe that what works for desktops and laptops don't
necessarily translate well for mobile devices. There are always exceptions
and wireless lan access is certainly one of them. I've always been able to
find other solutions after analyzing the need but certainly have no bias
against WinCE.

One thing that I've always like about Palm is their willingness to think
outside the box. They determine just what the users are trying to do and
address that. Web clipping was a great solution to a consumer's desire to
get information from the web. Rather than simply build in the ability to
surf the net, Palm went the extra mile to figure out just what really needed
to happen. Then they built a solution to address it.

Of course that's not to say that every situation can be (and should be)
handled by web clipping. That's why there's more than one PDA out there in
my opinion :)
