You could of course just make the library itself GPL and let your app
call it.
Or you can ask the owner of the GPLed code how much it would cost for
you to distribute it on other terms.
And I resent calling the GPL a virus. If you are already a Palm
developer and have access to the Pavillion or are even using
codewarrior you already have assented to several other licenses, many
of which are more restrictive.
If you don't like it, don't use the code. Same thing with other code
where if you don't want to pay for it you can't use it.
