I say, long live the GPL et. al. That's the reason
why I can afford to code:
free OS (Linux)
free C-compiler (gcc)
free tools (pilrc, make, configure, etc. etc.)
If I had to use some sort of Mac/Win version of Codewarrior
I would have been set back quite a lot of money (I also have
Mac Os and Windows at home - just for the fun of it :)
Another nice thing by using the free toolchain ... it has been
ported to Win32 as well. So I can work on my project on my
corporate laptop (in low hours) as well on my linux box at home.
Somehow this increases my productivity ... :)
So ... long live GPL.
