Yep. The word Palm is used as a Trademark. It's like if you started a soft
drink company and called your drink Coke, or write a text editor and call it
Word. Same concept. This is mostly done to keep every company that makes a
handheld device from calling it a Palm.
Same thing goes with Band-aid. That's what most people call adhesive
bandages, but Band-aid is protected and no other company can call their
adhesive bandages "Band-aids".
