Overall, if you name with a "Palm" in it, I personally believe you are
compormising your own product. Doing this is a throwback to early Macintosh
software (e.g. MacWrite, MacPaint, MacDraw, MacSchedule, MacPlaymate --
let's not get started on this one!) where it noted that the software was
intended for the platform. Apple liked this since it promoted the platform.
However, Palm does not see a need to promote the brand via third party
software titles.
However, if you make up your own trademark, you can build your own brand and
just lable it as "XYZ for PalmOS" in the product name. We here do this by
building our brand name "Datastick" which in fact pre-dates Palm by several
years. Thus one of our software titles is "Datastick Connection for
PalmOS".
Doing something like this will have you build your own IP and give you your
own brand and market legs instead of dragging on the coattails of Palm.
