Somehow, I think your real question is "How can I get this working 
again?"  If not, then I'll defer to Steve Mann's answer.

Well, I certainly don't have anything authoritative to say on this 
subject, but I think that if I were in your shoes, I'd try reading my 
old projects into the new IDE, export them as XML, and then import 
the XML file.  That might result in a "cleaner" project file.  Also, 
throw out the "<Project> Data" directories.

Also, save the projects that are giving you problems; Metrowerks 
might be interested in seeing them so that they can track down this 
crash.
