That's what I meant when I said the conduit could check and "log a message that
Hot Sync is not allowed with pending edits."  But I didn't spell it out that
well.

I think this would servce the dual goals of allowing the user to switch apps
while avoiding the exchange of data when the user has not finished processing
their set.  And like you say, after a few times of getting the Hot Sync log
message, at least some of the users will learn to quit doing it that way...
