As you discovered, Launcher won't have any trouble receiving beams. In general, well-behaved apps can handle not getting the SysAppLaunchCmdGoTo launch even when they set the goToCreator field in the socket. This happens when multiple objects are beamed in a single session; only one of them gets the goto.
