Thanks for the info Douglas - I remember you (or someone else) suggested
this the other day.  I called PSC and spoke to a tech support rep for a
bit - they don't have a 2D version of the Momentum II planned.  In fact,
according to their tech support rep, they are discontinuing the Momentum II
because Visor is making changes to their lineup, removing Springboard module
support.  I rather liked your suggestion on this for 1D scanning - it seemed
like a feature-rich solution - but this may turn out to be a dead-end
alternative.  I can't really vouch for my sources but I thought I'd raise a
caution flag.

At the moment I'm still stuck with only one 2D PalmOS scanning option - the
Handera 330 with Socket's CF 2D scanner.  It looks like it should work, but
I've had no luck contacting Handera's tech support people for more detailed
info.  I'm still in the market for alternative suggestions, though!
