The last "official" word I heard was that only certain Visor models were
discontinued, and others (like the Pro) would remain.  But with HS's stock
trading the way it has recently, one has to wonder...  That's why I said:

The Pro is still available, as are the 1D scanning modules.  So, like the
SPT1700, one can still acquire them now but one should not count on them
remaining available long term.

In my case, switching to the SPT1550 takes zero effort or code changes.  But the
transfers will run slower over a serial port, I'll miss the Prism's visibility
(and color), and it costs more.  But it sure beats the SPT1500. <g>

If Socket does a SDIO module for the $249 mentioned in the old press release, it
may be another product to watch (in the 1D market space).

Sorry; I don't have any suggestions for the 2D market...
