And in fact, the CSM150 used the same SDK as the Symbol SPTxxxx series so programs written for the STPxxxx line would run on the Visor with CSM150 too. I believe CodeWarrior comes with the Symbol SDK included. For Prc-Tools, you have to get the static library directly from Symbol where I think it may be officially unsupported. But it always worked for me... >The best scan-based Palm OS unit in standard PDA profile is the Symbol >1550, If you like using a grayscale, 33MHz dragonball device with 8MB memory, no VFS support, and not even USB support. But hey, it's better than the SPT1500. :) >There are less good scan solutions for Palm OS 5 units, with the Socket >SDIO scanner being the most popular, How popular is it? I was waiting for it with baited breath when the CSM150 was discontinued and got one as soon as they were released. I was very underwhelmed by it though, as the decode time was very slow and the ratio of bad scans too high for my taste. Have they improved the CMOS imaging engine? >and a nicely built but relatively >expensive clip-on scanner from Grabba. Grabba has now added new models as well, including one which can even do 2D barcodes in PDF417 format. (The only SPTxxxx model which could do that was discontinued.)
