Ah! The joys of a world wide economy. :) I wish that there was more "technical" stuff about the Yamato-verse as there is in the Trek-verse.... but then again... Yamato was never very consistent about their canon of technology. Seems a new device poped out of any old place on the ship whenever they needed it.
As Gundam 00 and Gundam Seed kind of rebooted Gundam Wing and Mobile Suit Gundam (respectively) by telling the "same" story with new twists and new maturity... I would LOVE to see Yamato given the same treatment. No doubt that like with the Galactica and Trek reboots, a Yamato reboot would send fan-boys into fits of rage...
