I find that a quick wit is important, bit listening like she really  
matters is...

Well... I have used small-nub embossing tools, dull ice-picks and  
butter knives, which all work well.
I am less fond of dead ballpoint pens, plastic toothpicks, and the  
back of a dull hobby knife blade.
But my favorite, especial for SMALL folds is the light handed hobby  
knife.
I actually run the same knife I cut out the model with over the fold  
lines VERY lightly.
So light at only gravity is supplying the cut, but the trick is giving  
enough force to keep the cut on the line.
This takes practice... lots... and you can STILL make mistakes.
