This one made me think. I started building models at about 8 years of age, I'm
now 75. I still build them. About 8 years ago, unannounced in the mail, I
recieved a catalog from PMI. Since then I've worked in paper almost
exclusively. I still will make an interesting model out of plastic or wood, but
mostly paper. I just started a paper Colt Peacemaker. I'm glad that about 80%
of my hair is already gone so that now it's really hard to pull out the rest.
What I like about paper is the challenge of making two dimension into a
recognizable three dimensional, sometimes working, model. Also having a life
time membership with Fiddler'sgreen has been absolutely the best.

I started in the 1930's when my father gave me a printed-on-cardboard model
of a Norwegian cruise ship. It had no instructions and was maybe 3 or 4 feet
long when finished which took me weeks. After than, I watched for stuff on the
back of cereal boxes and any place else I wouldn't have to buy it. I
discovered it on the internet ten or fifteen years ago and I wish I had more
time to devote to it.
