 I am in the process of applying this patch in the ''auto_libjit'' branch.
 However, when I run `perl Configure.pl --test=configure`, I am getting
 "uninitialized value" warnings in ''t/steps/auto/libjit-01.t'' and
 ''t/steps/gen/libjit-01.t''.  In the first of these, at least, this was a
 side effect of the addition  of the ternary condition in
 ''config/auto/libjit''.  I am working on fixing this, so repairs to the
 tests will go in to branch at the same time as the rest of plobsing's
 patch.
