Party unity cannot be at all cost.is either a prinscipled unity or
nothing.pac does not accept groups, individuals must renew their membership
and be part of a party branches.if you claim to love the pac and concerned
about party unity you must belong to party branches.you cant have non party
members working for party unity it is madness at its best.after you finish
your jokes you must join the party andbuild its structures.those in the
payrolls of institutions created to destroy the party will always undermine
party unity.the pac president comrade letlapa mphahlele called for unity of
the pac members not groups.the condition remain accepting the leadership of
the party and sub ordinating oneself to the party and its decisions and
programme.all piecies of papers without accepting that reality belong to the
dustbin.we are being liberal and dishonest and that is un pac.

PARTY_BUILDING_AND_UNITY_FOR_THE_PAC_OF_AZANIA_[Final_Document][1].pdf

Sons and Dughters of Africa

I welcome the opportunity one has to enhance a document that was discussed
in a meeeting of APLA cadres on 21 Nov 10 at Ouradsal, Church Square
Pretoria. When the document was discussed, the audience had time only to
glance through the contents and focus on those areas or phrases that the
organisers drew our attention to. In this meeting I had already welcomed the
initiative I initially understood to be directed towards the unity of the
Africanist movement entirely, those that one likes, dislikes, hates,
distates, loves and idolises. I could not express myself as freely as I
wanted to, because comrades in the chair were rather very impatient with my
contribution even though I decalred my positive attitude, to clear the air.
A sentence I made invited paragraphs explaining to me what the meeting was
about. I bear no grudge about that. These things happen in our party, no
wonder we are where we are.

Lenin impresses me when he says, "It is not enough to be a revolutionary and
an adherent of socialism or a communist in general. You must be able to at
each particular moment find the particular link in the chain which you must
grasp with all your might in order to hold the whole chain and to prepare
firmly for the transition to the next link". A doubt was cast on my
intepretation of this document under the pretext that I have not read the
whole document. I now have read the document. Im afraid I was spot on.

Emanating by the discussions with some of the organisers of the meeting I
formulated an expectation on the initiative. The document falls short of
making mention of all Africanist formations and individuals displaced by
exigencies of our own political situation perpetrated by Letlapa and
company. It has not mentioned either by reference or expicitly the name PAM
and APC and or Revolutionary Wactdogs. And yet, these are the groupings that
openly are an indication of disunity in the party. There is a substantial
number of the former and latter functioning independant of the PAC
officially led by Letlapa. It would look like comrades are not comfortable
in recognising this reality. Thinking that this is an oversight, I pointed
out this strategic error in the 21 Nov meeting, but was supressed. It was
later conceded that the document would be rephrased and I had hoped that
would be done to rectify the oversight. After reading the document posted
here, I pick this has not been done. Should I assume that this is an
oversight again? Would I not be naive if I do so? It would look like
comrades are now consistent in derecognising other comrades the same way
Letlapa did. I am now wondering if this current cadreship initiative was to
be at the centre of the PAC and set the direction, tone and miletones from
one era to the next would do worse than Letlapa in creating disunity in the
party. The strategic thrust of the document fails to call for the unity of
the Africanist movement entirely at a time when central to our political
paralysis is disunity. And yet we use the name of John Nyati Pokela to frame
and tag our initiative. Lets recap comrades. Pokela called every Africanist
back into the PAC. Those that estranged themselves with the party and those
that were estranged from the party through the poor stewardship and errors
of its leaders and cadres. There was an organised splinter called APRP, the
likes of Cde Templeton Ntantala and Gason Ndlovu. There were those that
worked with Potlako Leballo who was causing a great amount of disequilibrium
in the party. Comrades who were recalled are still in the party to date and
part of our problems and solutions. If we are selective in the "Back to the
PAC campaign" we must accept that we cannot use Pokela's name to frame our
initiative. If we continue in the direction we seem to be going, then one
will be justified in future when he concludes that APLA cadres were
positioning themselves as yet another big faction misusing the name of
POKELA to justify themselves and the conceptual role of cadreship in a
revolutionary party to book a place in the PAC factional life. My thesis
comrades is clear that we have no choice but to unite and forge ahead as a
single revolutionary entity. Any initiative that falls short of this
historical necessity can never change the fortunes of Africanist movement.
We must find a way to streamline the initiatives whose objectives are
professly to unite the party. Things being ideal the groundwork done by all
groups should be finding good expression in the resolutions to be taken by
the different confrences/congresses in December. That is if these cannot be
harmonised. The 21 Nov meeting was a golden opportunity to do exactly that
or at the least take a resolution that sends exactly that bold message. It
is my sincere hope that the cadreship movement will not function parallel to
branches when the PAC is back standing in its feet. I am saying this because
the wisdom of the PAC constitutions sanctions that an organisation is an
organisation because of its branches. This does not dispute the existence of
a cadreship movement but simple emphasises that cadres must function in
party formal structures and be shining examples and beacons of light to
junior cadres. I am of the opinion that one the ways to reinstate
organisational discipline is bringing our matured cadres back in branches,
regoins, provinces...etc. But cadres must sit and conceptualise their
intervention carefully and make sure that which they do will enhance the
prospects of the party. An oath of alligiance was administered to all who
attended the Nov 10 meeting. The last sentence of the PAC Oath of Alligiance
says unambigouisly, ....I accept the leadership of the PAC....". There is
only one elected leadership in the PAC -the Letlapa leadership. I wondered
if we understand that. If we do, why would we give Letlapa an unsolicited
endorsement. To my understanding we are all agreed that Letlapa is the cause
of the current fragmentation of the Africanist movement, why would we then
support him in his programme to dsetroy the PAC?

One writer wrote, "We are in perilous time. A poet says, One world dying
-and another powerless to be born. It is not time for action, it is not
either time for withdrawal, neither a time to fight in the streets nor to
retreat to the mountain. The first necessity of our time is clarification.
It is time to return to soruces. The first necessity of our time is not only
to call things by their proper names, but conciuosly to connect the thing to
its name, the action to its name, the reality to its name...."

My humble appeal comrades is that all of us as individuals and as a
collective tailor our initiatives, physical and intellectual efforts towards
the Unity of the Africanist movement. The solution to the problems of the
PAC is unity. The solution to the political problems of the left is a united
and embrasive PAC. The solution to the ills of the Azanian people in South
Africa is a united Africanist movement. The last hope for the realisation of
pan africanist agenda in Africa is a united and strategically positioned
PAC.

May the soul of an Africanist revolutionary and a hero of Operation Crusade
Cde Ojukwu rest in peace.

Sons and daughters of the soil I pause.
