MOTOR MECHANIC (Diesel) (HAYBAND - L) OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY Responsible for mechanical diagnosing, repairing and maintaining mechanical systems and components on heavy vehicles, plant and equipment throughout Rand Water's area of distribution. PRIMARY DUTIES * Scheduled planned maintenance * Respond to breakdowns and call outs * Supervise and train subordinates * Perform "standby duties" as required JOB REQUIREMENTS * N3 coupled with a recognized diesel motor mechanic apprenticeship * 5 years post apprenticeship experience based mainly on heavy earthmoving equipment, cranes, TLB's, front end loaders and trucks etc. * Code 14 driver's license coupled with a valid Professional Driving Permit with the ability to pass Rand Water's internal driving test * Plant and Equipment experience will be an advantage * Knowledge of OSH Act and safe working procedures COMPETENCY PROFILE KNOWLEDGE SKILLS BEHAVIOUR * Mechanical knowledge * Safety knowledge * Safe working procedures * Coaching skills * Supervisory skills * Communication skills * Interpersonal skills * Performance Driven * Team work * Customer Service orientation In making the final selection, consideration will be given to achieving Rand Water's Employment Equity Objectives.
