Cde Seroke and Ndebele There is this Eddie Cross who is a member of parliament under MDC in Zimbabwe. He is somewhere credited with an anti-white minority of rule of Ian Smith in the then Rhodesia. Recently he wrote an article under the caption' Why Zimbabwe (and Africa) is so poor' . He begins his article by lauding the post independent state from Rhodesia with its impressive economic growth. With economic indicators, he points out that the GDP per capita in Zimbabwe was among the highest in the developing countries. Then comes what went wrong, he dismisses the theory of 'blacks can't manage' and brands it as racist. But this is a sheer flattery calculated at driving a wedge of white minority interests. Among other reasons responsible for an economic ebb, he conveniently single out property rights which he believes that they were violated. The expropriation of land by war veterans in Zimbabwe in the past decade has been attributed to the current problems of Zimbabwe by those wanting to maintain the status quo. The similar problem besets us here in Azania, from 1994 up to the finalization of the constitution in 1996. A myriad of capitulating compromises were clinched. To make an example, the Bill of rights, which among other things protect whites to retain control of the land which was stolen away from our forefathers. It would seem that the ANC in power was doing well in redressing the problems created by apartheid. However, the penny finally dropped when the land question was resuscitated by the ANCYL. The ANC leadership treated its youngsters (youth league) harshly for raising these facts. The ANC did not admit that ill thought compromises such as the bill of rights was responsible for an economic status quo which favors whites. Instead, it harped on" patience". So when the ANCYL unleashed what it called economic freedom in our lifetime with a concomitant of expropriation of land without compensation. It was considered that the ANCYL had let the cat out of the bag. The reason I am raising this issue is because western imperialist interests and the indoctrination of neo-colonialism in reactionary forces such as the MDC have diverted the core problem of Africa, which is land dispossession. But the PAC is continually bleeding from the bruises of factionalism, these wounds never heal. 50 years in the making of unity, we are failing to take a center stage instead we recede to the periphery. Ideally, All those who are disenchanted with the ANC should not even attempt to build new parties instead the PAC should gather the spoils from the ANC's wreckage. Lastly, the land question remains pivotal. This email and any accompanying attachments may contain confidential and proprietary information.
