annoying. i've got another computer on loan with an sblive card and that
works fine. damn frustrating.

I have had the same problem with sound blaster cards in the past.  I had one
transmitter that had the hissing noise, regardless of what I did.  I think
you have the same model.  Nothing I tried worked either.  Sorry to tell you
that!
