I have an AOR AR8200 general coverage receiver that can be connected to the PC through a serial cable. The receiver can then be controlled via the PC with software which is quite accessible with screen readers. The problem is that as soon as I connect the receiver to the PC and run the software, the background noise increases significantly to such an extent that it may be difficult to hear weaker stations. I know that it is probably impossible to limit all computer noise, but are there certain things that can be done to minimize it?
