Oh, Tony! I wish I did not lose my father's old stereo to those vipers in
Nevada in 1999. It had an 8-track recorder/player, 3-speed turntable,
cassette recorder/player and AMFM radio all in one compact unit. I would
have loved to help you digitize 8-track tapes if you wanted that done! I
wish I could help my friends who still have these older stuff lying around.
I simply don't have the equipment and wonder where would I put it all? Even
if I could get my hands on some working older machinery, who to contact to
keep it going? How do you find people who would be willing to help maintain
it for a nominal fee in this day and age of throwaway and very high repair
costs that makes you buy another piece of equipment and clutter your place
with all the broken stuff?

How I wish I could!

I love this discussion group. Sure is fun. I cannot help reminiscing where
it is appropriate. I don't mean to get off topic a little. But isn't that
audio, too?

What's sad, Tony, is there are lots of wonderful things which will never be
available on CD. And it hurts! They sure waste their time putting all this
modern noise on CD and call them hits. I wouldn't cast a vote for those
things if they paid me to! Maybe that's why musically I'm still living in
the past. I don't understand this rap music and noise. Can't the younger
folks sing at all? Soundslike only the classically trained bother.

Mimi
