Hello Greg

I guess you did not read the fine print from Sonnet. They do NOT
guarantee that their Mac OSX installer ,$29 package will work with
anything other than a Crescendo/PCI card. In fact, its title is "
Crescendo X Install 1.0".

Since I assume that you have personal data on the drive and want to save
it., I would suggest using DiskWarrior. This CD has OS9.1 built-in and
boots up your system using this. It rebuilds and /or repairs all the
files on the drive, making a duplicate copy that I believe should
restore and mount the drive

If you have nothing on the drive that needs saving , then just boot up
with any mac
installation CD, like OS8x or OS9x, . If the drive does not mount,
then open Drive Setup in the Utilities folder and see if you can mount
it

The worst case scenario would be that you may have to remove the drive
and reformat it in another mac( hope this is not the case!)

good luck

albert

BTW I updated my 7600 G3 Crescendo 400 MHz/1MB TO OSX using the Sonnet
installer No problems for me..
