I wonder if Apple deliberately fixed the release version of OSX to 
not work with upgraded machines, since the Public Beta worked fine 
except L2 cache issues.

Why would Rempel's kernel patches be unnecessary in the beta but 
required in the release version?

I imagine Sonnet (and others) will also have to release updates to 
their upgrade software. I wonder how much Sonnet will charge for this?

Somehow I have the feeling that Apple is intentionally restricting 
the use of OSX, and every major upgrade will be crippled accordingly. 
Perhaps I'm wrong.
