Before I upgraded to the 8600/300 I used an 8500/150 with 96meg ram and virtual memory
set to 128meg. On it I was running Pshop 6 and the Umax Twain interface and never had
az single hangup or lock when scanning even 600dpi photos. It wasn't the fastest scan
at that resolution but it came in nice and smooth.
Just my 2.5 cents worth. :)
