World machines. It comes with USB and FireWire
controllers on-board, but it also comes with an ADB
port for your old peripherals. Finally, it has a
faster system bus (100MHz) and RAM for it is much
cheaper than for your 9500 (it uses PC100 SDRAM),
processor upgrades will be a fair amount easier and
cheaper (due to the ZIFsocket) and faster (due to the
higher bus speed). Finally, they go for around $700
today--much less than a new G4. As you said, if your
CPU is fast enough already, then the stock 300-450MHz
750 in a Yosemite will be more than enough.

Thanks Grayson. That was very helpful info. I'm
going to look into the Yosemite G3 models and also at
their G4 upgrade cards. You brought up a good point
in that it has ADB connectivity. . .I still use and
will need my adjustable keyboard. Either way, the
obvious future with Macs is Mac OS X. And with
support from Sonnett for all the macs not supported by
Apple, I think I don't have much to worry about no
matter what I do -- keep my 9500 and/or upgrade to a
newer Mac. In the end, I'll still be able to run OS X
and take advantage of the latest firewire/USB
technology. Thanks again,

Jess
