Hi all, I just stuffed a 200MHz dual 604e processor card into my PowerTower Pro along with a Quantum Atlas II 9GB drive (boy is that sucker noisy!). At first appearance, the machine seems snappier than under 1 200MHz 604e (stock), but I haven't done any benchmarking or anything.
The PTP is running OS 9.0.4. Besides upgrading to 9.1 (I know you all will tell me to do this anyway ;-), is any extra software needed by the OS to take advantage of the dual processor card? In the extensions folder there is a "Multiprocessing" folder with Apple CPU Plugins inside... What's that? It was installed by default under the single 604e. Is there more that should be there? I guess this question is mostly aimed at users/owners of 9600MP machines... Thanks for any info!
