I have a Kodak DC3400 with Lexar Media USB-enabled Compact Flash cards. Transferring
images via USB is SO much faster that via a Serial cable (which was also included with
this camera). The USB-enabled cards cost a little more, but the convenience is well
worth it. A USB JumpShot adapter is included with the card, so I just leave that
plugged into a port on the Belkin 2-port USB PCI card in my PMac 7500/G3/300. Pop the
card out of the camera and into the JumpShot, and an icon mounts on the desktop. Then
I just drag-n-drop the images off of the card right from the Finder, no special
software (except the Apple USB extensions, and 2 from Lexar, included on a mini CD
with the JumpShot). Very slick. The image transfer software included with the camera
is ok, but relies in the Serial connection. I've used it when no USB port was
available on other people's computers (Macs & PCs).

If I just double-click on the images, they open in QuickTime Viewer. To organize and
catalog them I use another slick piece of software that came with Toast, called
PhotoRelay. I can view them, catalog them, add captions, rotate the images, create a
slideshow, and even export them for the Web (it automatically builds a series of HTML
pages, thumbnails, high-rez and all). Sometimes I also use a shareware app called
ImageDrop to quickly view and get size and res info, with needing to open the files up
in Photoshop.

I chose this 2 megapixel camera based on price (<$250) and compatibility with both
Macs & PCs, USB and Serial. Also because I have a digital camera at work that uses
the same Lexar Media USB-enabled Compact Flash cards, which I got to really like.

Good luck!
Mike
