First I would confirm the IDE card is suppose to work in a Mac. My
next question is what OS you are currently using and what happens
when a new HD is connected to the card. When you boot with the new
HD, it may or may not be recognized, and the OS might put up a 'Do
you want to format' dialog. If it does, skip it. You should then
use Drive Setup to format and initialize the drivers. Make sure you
are using Drive Setup 1.7.3 http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n58303 or
later as some earlier versions had problems. Also, if you are using
multiple drives, make sure all of them have had their drivers
initialized by the same version of Drive Setup. Obviously, BACKUP
YOUR DATA before updating the drivers or initializing a disk.
