I bought 4 128 MB SIMMS from Velocity and (following the good advice received on this list) plugged them into my 7200/120 without any apparent hitches. Now I'm wondering:
1. Is there a software program I should use to "test" this memory for some hidden infirmity? 2. I typically run Outlook Express 5.02, Internet Explorer 5.1.3, Graphic Converter 4.3, and Word 98 concurrently. Will the performance of any of these be markedly improved by allocating more than the default to either the "minimum" or "preferred" memory settings? 3. Should I have virtual memory on or off? 4. Should I use a RAM disk, and if so, how? TIA, -- Ed Garvey -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
