Hi Y'all,

Here's a mystery. . .

Using 9.2.2, whenever I open any application like Eudora
or a browser (notice it's nameless :-) my trash and HD icon and any folders
on the desktop disappear until I quit the open application??
So I couldn't actually drag a button from the browser toolbar to the trash.

I rebuilt the DT; replaced the finder and prefs; just prior to this quirk
did a total Optimize and got the machine on the web.
I'll do some serious "Wipes" in the AM as well.
Must confess it's an OT Beige G3 sitting beside my 9500 - I may sell the 9500.

Ran into an old friend &long time Mac user the other day.
He's heavy into music applications, swears by OS 9.1 but says
he avoids OS 9.2, 9.2.1 and 9.2.2 like the plague, after negative
experiences involving his music processing applications.

I've heard similar rumblings on the lists as well.

So am I right in wanting to stay with 9.1- which install would no doubt
cure the above DT glitch as well?

Thanks,

Terry
