I have a bunch of computers I intend to run in one workstation, using a
switch box. I've got all the pieces but haven't put them together yet. I'd
like to put them all together in one stack, per below, but worry about heat
and interference, etc. Any advice?

1. A Linux box (pre-mmx pentium), Micron tower; next to it

2. an 8100; with some buffer boards and a peripheral or two, to make an even
plane, on top of these I would like to place

3. an 8500 desktop hybrid (an old 7200 with an 8500 mobo in it, running a G3
processor); and on top of that (with some buffering, allowing a zip drive to
be placed)

4. a DuoDock to hold my Duo.

All of these plus the mentioned Zip drive, and plus an external CD and an
external hard drive, would find their place in one stack.

Now, with the buffering to allow for some ventilation, should I expect any
problems?

Should I put a little fan to circulate air over the 8500 desktop hybrid?

Are there any interference problems I should expect?

The Micron tower, by the way, has no vents on top, and is a few inches
higher than the 8100. That's why I need to use buffers over the 8100 (that
and the fact that the 8100 has vents on top, in the back, which I won't
cover).

I'm thinking of not stacking my DuoDock. That would keep the 8500 hybrid on
top, which I'm sure would allow it to ventilate fine.

Any thoughts on this peculiar combo?

P.S. The reasons for this are pretty obvious: I multi-task. I'd use the 8100
to operate my scanner, while using the 8500 to do pretty much anything else.
The Linux box I aim to use as a router (and perhaps firewall) for the Net...
