John, Tell us what you are trying to share and how long you wait for the sharing to start.
My PM 7500 with a 2GB SCSI drive will start sharing in around 30 seconds after startup. My Sawtooth with a 30GB and a 60GB ATA100 drive takes around 20 minutes before it decides to start sharing. I've always assumed that the time it takes to share is a function of how many files and folders need to be readied for sharing. Try this as an experiment: Turn off sharing for all your drives and instead just select one folder on one drive to share. That should start up file sharing much quicker.
