Hello friends of the list,

Two hours ago I was offered a PowerMac 6500/275mhz/96 RAM/6 GIG HD/56k
modem/ZIP/Ethernet card for high speed connection. For around $200 CDN. I am
tempted. My old 7200/120 is doing the job but never less slower. A friend
immediately said I should not even think of the 6400/6500 family cause of
the IDE drive and the EDO Ram. I have an old Microtek ScanMaker E6 (that
does a terrific job), a La Cie CD burner and a StyleWriter 1200 that I want
to be able to use. Is it true because of the IDE drive, you cannot have an
SCSI chain? He also told me the 6500 had the worst reputation of all the
PowerMacs. Is it true and why?

Also, will I be able to put the 128 memory stick in my 7200 in the 6500? I
was also offered a 7300/180/64RAM with monitor for around the same price and
a 7600/120/64RAM/2Gigs woth monitor and StyleWriter 2400 for around the same
too. What a day!! I had been looking for three weeks and they all come to me
in the same two hours. Happy me but too much of a ood thing.

Thanks in advance for your precious help
Germain

P.S. And thanks for the help with Word too yesterday.
