Now back to your problem the only thing I see in my troubleshooting book here is a bad video board or a PRAM battery. I'd go with the second, I've seen very unpredictable behaviour because of a bad clock batteries, so don't discard the idea just yet. Second I'd recommend removing the harddrive completely to see if the question mark disk icon at least shows up. If it does try to boot with an OS disk to check the RAM and such things. If that just doesn't bring up the question mark icon then the motherboard may be bad. Another thing to try would be to remove ALL the RAM then try booting (I'd try this before removing the harddrive). If the mac is at least responsive she'll either give you the sad mac code accompanied with the chimes of doom (get happy if it does it is the RAM) or boot with the available board RAM (if there's any). Then again if all else fails consider the motherboard's bad. Who knows that if by fiddling around with it, it gives you the chimes with a code that'll tell you exactly what's wrong, there's nothing like the patient being able to tell you what's wrong :) Liliana Velazco -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
