Hi,

Ok, so this may seem silly, but how is PRAM
pronounced?

I did a Google search using the following terms:

    pronunciation, "PRAM battery"

but found nothing useful at the Google search. I also
used the search function at this List's archive, but
found no results.

My reason for asking: I was talking with a friend on
the phone today, about a problem he's having with his
Mac, and it sounded to me like it might be a PRAM
battery problem - but I realized that in almost 6
years of Mac ownership I've never had occasion to
actually *say* the word "PRAM" in normal spoken
conversation and I had no idea how it was pronounced.
- Mac users are few-and-far-between in these parts;
actually, I've only met two (2) live-and-in-person Mac
owners, ever - that I *know* of, anyway, although
there are probably "closet" Mac users lurking around
unbeknownst to others - not like they have Apple logos
tattooed on their foreheads ;)

Anyway, as a result of that, for the first time I
realized I didn't know how the darn thing is supposed
to be pronounced.

He didn't know, either, so... which is it?
"pea-ram" for Parameter-RAM, or just "pram" like the boat?

Thanks!

(If this question is inappropriate to this List,
please let me know)

- ignorantly yours, Jamie Marie
