I'm using Netscape 4.8 AND 7.01 (downloaded about a month ago), the
latter of which the jury is still out, on my 7300/G3-400 (OS 8.6,
368mb RAM). 7.01 has some very positive features, not the least of
which is its history capability and its ability to open websites
previously available only to IE, but it also has some bugs (e.g.
delay to open menu bar after clicking, frequent annoying download of
a site with only a blank page showing) on which I'm still working.
I'm still playing with it. Potential solutions to 7.01's problems
obtained from this list are primarily: (1) upgrade to OS 9x and (2)
dump 4.8, neither of which I can/want to do at this time (I'll
probably dump 4.8 later this month, keeping the bookmarks, when I
have time). Most I can state about a potential upgrade is that 7.01
doesn't interfere with my 4.8.

I've also found a few sites which are only for Netscape 6x or higher,
but I haven't been inconvenienced enough to think about it, at least
not yet. Until that point, 7.01 sits in the background waiting to be
worked on. Art, if you decide to take the plunge, let me know how it
comes out.
