I am NOT sure of the following statements.
If I am wrong, I believe that lots of folks will correct me.

I believe that the biggest RAM a 6116 qaccepts is two 32MB chips.

The 6116 is not a good machine to uprgade.
I thiknk the max RAM is 64MB (plus 8MG soldered onto the motherboard).
If it runs as it is, use it for typing.

Keep an eye out for a 7500 or a 7600, for about $35 to $50.
Then upgrade the 7500 or 7600.

 From Data Memory Systems:
"Macintosh Performa 6116CD
60MHz PowerPC 601

Memory Specs
Standard Memory: 8 MB (non-removable)
Maximum Memory: 72 MB
Memory Expansion: 2 sockets (1 bank of 2)

32MB Module M3373LL/A DM34 006 $11.99"
