Hi,
a possibility would be to add a second power supply. I did that on my
6500/G3 350, and it powers my 2 internal disks with no problem. The
second power supply is a PC AT one simply plugged to the second power
connector at the rear of the 6500, with cables passing through the TV
tuner window. It didn't lower the temperature of the G3 processor, that
remains rather steadily around 51C.
It's a good option if you want to put a big fan on the stock processor.
But if it don't needed the latter, you can also solder-desolder some
resistors to lower its multiplier. That will make it less likely to
overheat.
