A common problem is not seating the card in far enough. There are two rows of pins on these cards and after inserting into the first row it can feel like it's all the way in. If you look down at the bottom of the processor card, you should see little or none of the edge connector contacts if it's fully seated. Another clue is that the keying gap between pins should be completely filled .
