Before I call OWC and return this card I thought I'd see if anyone on the list might have some suggestions. I'm running an 8500, 768MB RAM, 9G HD, OS 9.1. I am replacing a Sonnet Crescendo 300 with a 500/512 card.
Although I followed instructions right down the line the new card won't work. I even cleaned the connections. I get no start up chime, even though I can heard the hard drive start up. Replaced the old card and had to start up with extensions off. I ran Norton's disk doctor and restarted. Everything is fine now. What are the chances I have a bad card? Would a dying pram battery contribute to the problem? Or does the date/time reset to 1956 when you press the cuda button? Linda -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
