A misunderstanding, I think. I've tried booting with the CD connected *and*
disconnected. I get the same result. With the Disk Tools diskette and the 1st
diskette I get a smiling mac that sits there and does nothing.

There's nothing else I can disconnect from the logic board and expect the thing
to boot. I'm not sure what to do from here. (The HD has been used in a Quadra
and works fine).
