Personally I would not go with an Ortofon for home use. The cost does not justify it. A Stanton 500 cartridge will work with turntables that would take an Ortofon, just use the head-shell that came with the table. I just saw a Stanton cartridge online for $19 so shop around. The cheapest Ortofons are probably around at least $75.00 (I use the blue ones at work so I know they sound great!) Second, the number ONE thing I have not seen anyone mention, always set your tone controls flat. You should have no enhancements added to the sound file.
