Hey all,
First, a big thank you goes out to everyone for answering my previous
questions. :-)
Now, my next question. This pertains to running OS X on my future G4
800mhz upgraded 9600...
My previous OS X experience was with a 400mhz G3 iMac, with 256MB RAM.
It did the job, with a little slowness in some spots, but it was very
usable.
What I'm curious about it, given the 50mhz system bus bottleneck on the
9600, how will the upgraded 9600 running OS X perform compared to the
above mentioned iMac I used previously? (I plan to have at least 256MB
RAM in the 9600, maybe more.)
Oh, one other question; I understand that additional software is needed
to get OS X to install on an upgraded 9600. Is there free software
available for this, or is it better to just pay Sonnet the money for
their software made for this purpose?
Thanks!
Stace
