It's fine on an iMac as long as it has the Rage 128 chip for video, I 
ran it on a 400MHz G3 and it was great.

That setup will run OS X easily if you get a G4 from XLR8 or Sonnet, 
they provide drivers to let you run OS X on their upgrade cards.

OS X installations will not kill your Mac, it's only an OS for gawds 
sake! It is not even likely to damage your hard disk, it's Uninx not 
Windows!

That depends how you define 'break', if you mean stop it booting yes it 
might but it will not cause any damage you can't recover with a hard 
disk strip and re-install.

My advice is don't try it on a stock xx00 Mac, it's gonna be way too 
slow. Add a G4/400 and a Rage 128 PCI card to it and then try. It's not 
gonna do you any harm either way.
