Keep your bookmarks in folders and don't have too many hanging down, that
chokes it.

I turn off a lot of automatic stuff in the prefs, and trash the
TALKBACK.ini from the Netscape folder.

Back in the days when I was using a IIvx and a 7100/80 I used Netscape 4.78 with Earthlink and had a few problems. The tech told me to do these steps also to keep the browser trouble free, which it was.
