I have one of these cards and did not use the raid software and it works
fine.  You shouldn't need the software unless you want to set up two drives
in a raid configuration.  Termination is not something you have to deal with
on IDE devices.

I have an Apple CD-ROM on the card and using the Apple driver it is seen and
works.  Not sure how well the card supports CDRWs if at all but you may need
a different driver (FWB, Intech, Toast).  Also might want to check to make
sure the drive is set to Master if it's by itself on the cable.
