I recently had to borrow the CD-RAW from my 8500. When I put it back in,
the computer would fire up, but no video not even a flicker. I can hear the
drives spinning up, and if I force a restart from the keyboard, it will
restart. I tried hooking up to the video card and the internal video. I do
not hear any sounds other than the hard drives initially starting up, then
nothing.
I did have the computer unplugged for about one week while working on
another computer, but I had replaced the battery about 6 months ago with
hopefully, a good one.
The 8500 has G3/400, with VST UltraTek/66, a OrangeMicro FW/USB, and a ATI
7000.
What could be causing it? It was working so well.
This is what I get for building a Windows PC for a relative...
