I think you're right. I'm not sure I'd know a dual bank stick from a single-bank stick, although I'd guess that dual-banks have chips on two sides and single-banks have one. I played around with this a little. I found that putting the 32MB DIMM in Slot 1 got me 16MB, but putting it in Slot 2 or 3 got me 32. I thought I read in the book that Slot 1 could only use single-bank DIMMs. If so, that's not entirely correct. It can use dual-bank DIMMs but it's kind of a waste. If I'm wrong on any of this, I'd be happy to be corrected. I've already learned a lot from this list. Does anyone here have a use for a 16MB or 32MB 3.3-volt EDO DIMM?
