I had read the warnings about putting the Zips too close to monitors and thought it was yet another stupid excuse from Iomega, but it turned out that reads from, and writes to the Zips became much more reliable when moved away from the monitor (I had had the drives between the monitor and the tower of the 9500).
I didn't realize this. I now have a Zip drive right smack up behind my monitor on top of a stack of external drives.
