I have no stats other that in my experience ATA on a 7500 machine will not do
better than about 24 MB/SEC, not much more than what a 68 to 50-ed SCSI drive
can do on a Miles Blue Note or Adaptec 2930 card. Also, of all the ATA cards
I've tried in a Beige G3, including ones rated at higher ATA transfers, the
UltraTek 66 sold by OWC performed best for me with read AND write-using
SoftRaid drives off these cards can approach 35 MB/ SEC single and 50-60 MB/SEC
RAIDed-the Beige G3 seems to have an excellent architecture for ATA cards. I don't
think a Powermac 7500-7600 or Beige G3 can exploit more than what an ATA 66
offers with 7200 rpm, ATA 100 drives commonly available at good prices.
